Citadel Securities valued at $22 billion after investment from Sequoia, Paradigm -Breaking

(Reuters] Citadel Securities reported Tuesday that Sequoia Capital’s venture capital company and Paradigm’s crypto-focused investor firm had invested $1.15 billion in the firm. The market maker now has a valued of close to $22 billion.

Sequoia was the leader of this round. According to the company, Alfred Lin, who is a Sequoia partner, will be joining Citadel Securities’ board.

Citadel Securities was founded by Ken Griffin and offers trading services for asset managers, brokers-dealers, hedge funds, banks and other financial institutions. The company’s institution business has over 1,600 customers.

In a statement last year, the company said it had not asked Robinhood (NASDAQ 🙂 and any other firm for trading restrictions or limits. GameStop Corp (NYSE:) And other so-called “meme stock” during the peak retail-driven trade frenzy of January 2021. This was after allegations from retail investors.
