WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – President Joe Biden expressed his confidence Tuesday that the United States is on the right path in fighting the COVID-19 Pandemic. This comes as the nation struggles with an increase in Omicron-related infections.
White House officials claim that this pandemic is now different than previous ones because people have more protection through vaccinations and booster shot.
Biden stated Tuesday that he was confident the country is on the right path.
However, Biden acknowledged that he was concerned about the pace at which the virus was spreading worldwide because, “it’s not slowing up very much.”
COVID-19 is not as severe as the Omicron version of coronavirus. But, doctors have said that it could cause serious complications.
A Reuters count showed that the United States had 1.35 million coronavirus-related infections Monday. It is the largest daily number for any country, driven by Omicron variant.
According to Monday’s tally, more than 136,00004 people were hospitalized in America with COVID-19, exceeding the January record of 132.051, set last January.
Schools are being affected by the influx of cases. Teachers, bus drivers, and staff have been forced to leave.
Redesigned COVID-19 vaccin that targets Omicron variants is needed. Pfizer Inc (NYSE: ) Chief Executive said Monday that he could launch one by March.
