Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The additional 0.66% is added at Sydney’s close.

They were the top performers at the session Nickel Mines Ltd (ASX :), rose 6.53% to trade at 1.550 by the close. Meanwhile, Appen Ltd (ASX 🙂 gained 5.52%, or 0.54 point to finish at 10.33. Beach Energy Ltd. (ASX 🙂 was up 5.4% or 0.070 to 1.380 late trade.

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd. (ASX) was the worst performer of the session, falling 4.19% or 4.70 point to close at 107.50. Reece Ltd. ASX: fell by 3.52% (0.92 points) to finish at 25.20. Metcash Ltd. was down 2.34% (or 0.100 points) to 4.17.

The Sydney Stock Exchange saw rising stocks surpass declining stocks by 833, 565, and 406.

Nickel Mines Ltd. shares (ASX) reached all-time highs. They rose by 6.53%, or 0.095 to 1.550.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 5.23% to 12.983.

For February delivery, gold futures fell 0.13% to $1816.05 per troy an ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which rose 0.14 percent to reach $81.36/barrel, and March Brent oil, which fell 0.01 percent to trade at $83.71.

AUD/USD declined 0.01%, to 0.7208. AUD/JPY climbed 0.08% to 83.218.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.4% at 95.662
