Germany’s COVID-19 cases hit daily record of more than 80,000 -Breaking

REUTERS/Annegret HilseBERLIN, (Reuters) – Germany has reported 80,430 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday. It is the highest number ever recorded for a single day in the aftermath of the pandemic.
On Nov. 26, the previous daily record was over 76,000
Germany now has 7,661,811. Also, Wednesday’s death toll climbed by 384 to reach 114.735.
The latest data from Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Disease show that just under 75% of people have had at least one COVID-19-vaccination.
Incidence rates are a crucial indicator in the decision making process for coronavirus policies. They have steadily increased to 407.5 cases per 100,000 on Wednesday, from 387.9 the previous day.
