Doping-U.S. charges therapist with giving performance enhancing drugs to athletes for Tokyo Olympics -Breaking

NEW YORK (Reuters) -U.S. prosecutors on Wednesday announced charges against a Texas therapist for allegedly distributing performance-enhancing drugs to athletes participating in the Olympic Games held in Tokyo last summer.

Eric Lira was charged with doping in the United States. The case was not filed by Manhattan federal prosecutors.

Lira was a therapist based in El Paso Texas. She was taken into custody on Wednesday. Lira was scheduled to appear before a Texas federal judge later Wednesday.

It did not name any athletes who received drug abuse from Lira.
