Huawei CFO Meng to appear virtually in Brooklyn federal court By Reuters

REUTERS/Jennifer GauthierWASHINGTON (Reuters) – The chief financial officer of Chinese telecoms company Huawei Technologies, Meng Wanzhou, will appear on Friday in federal court in Brooklyn, according to the court calendar.
According to Reuters, Meng Wanzhou will be appearing virtually according to a person who is familiar with the matter.
Huawei couldn’t be reached for comment immediately.
Meng was detained at Vancouver International Airport on a U.S. warrant. She was charged with fraud in connection to HSBC’s misinformation about Huawei’s Iran business deals.
Meng claims she is innocent. She has been fighting extradition from Canada to the United States. Meng remains in Vancouver, where she is monitored by private security. She pays this as part her bail agreement.
Her extradition hearings concluded in August. The date for the ruling was set for Oct. 21.
