French Senate approves latest COVID measures and vaccine pass -Breaking

PARIS (Reuters) – The French Senate has approved Thursday’s government’s most recent measures against the COVID-19 disease. These include a vaccine pass. Some opposition came from the general public following President Emmanuel Macron’s sharp criticisms of those who are not vaccinated.

Senate approved the COVID measure and legislation to create a COVID vaccine by 249 votes in favor, against 63. France’s lower chamber of parliament had approved the legislation earlier in this month.

Macron and La Republique En Marche, his party ruling in France, have intensified the campaign against COVID-infected people. France is fighting a fifth round of this virus.

Macron stated to Le Parisien this month, that he wants to “piss off”, unvaccinated individuals by complicating their lives enough so they will end up receiving the COVID vaccination.

France recorded 361,719 COVID new cases over the past 24 hours and 246 deaths from COVID in hospital.

French teachers are also expected to walk out of the job on Thursday due to the failure of the government to create a cohesive policy that will allow schools to deal with the COVID pandemic or protect staff and pupils.
