A spokesperson for Reuters stated that “Due the recent COVID-19 epidemics both FAW-VW vehicle plants and VW Automatic Transmission Tianjin components factory were shut down since Monday.”

“Both plants performed COVID-19 tests twice this week for all employees and we are currently waiting for results. We are hopeful of resuming production as soon as possible and catching up with the lost production. We place the highest priority on our employees’ health and wellbeing.
