BERLIN (Reuters). Germany’s BDI Industry Association said Thursday that it expects Europe’s biggest economy to grow 3.5% in 2015. It was more conservative than the government’s forecast, warning that businesses could be subject to another year of “stop and go” due to the pandemic.

“The order books have been full. But, production is not keeping up with the demand. Siegfried Russwurm, President of BDI said that pandemics and supply disruptions have a significant impact on large areas of the economy.

The BDI’s forecast is not as optimistic as the government estimates published in October. Berlin had predicted that gross domestic product would grow by 4.1% in this year, compared to 2.6% for 2021.
