U.S. Capitol Police announced Thursday that they had arrested a woman from Michigan on several gun charges. She drove up to Washington, and she told officers she was interested in talking about Jan. 6 Capitol Riot.

Kery Lynn McAttee 58 had a loaded shotgun in 2001 Chevrolet Silverado and an unloaded,.22 caliber rifle when she left it in “No Parking” area in front U.S. Capitol Police headquarters Wednesday afternoon. police said in a press release. It is located approximately half a mile away from the U.S. Capitol.

The press release stated that McAttee had told her officers that she traveled from Michigan to speak with our officers and she wanted to share information regarding January 6, 2021.

According to the release, “During that conversation one of our agents spotted a gun box and the buttof a longgun in Silverado.” McAttee also confirmed that there were firearms inside her vehicle.

According to police, they found a loaded Mossberg shotgun in.410 caliber and a Gamo pellet pistol from the truck. They also recovered a Remington Nylon66 rifle in.22 caliber and a Connecticut Valley Arms muzzleloader in.50 caliber.

According to the press release, police do not currently possess any evidence McAttee arrived at Capitol intending “to make anything happen except talk with our officers.”

Elle is being charged with illegal possession of weapons, possession unregistered ammo, unlawful transport and possession of semi-automatic rifles, and unlawful possession a firearm misdemeanor.
