(Reuters) – CES organizers, the largest tech show in the world, announced on Thursday that they were unable to verify the COVID-19 case count from last week’s in-person event. South Korean officials had said around 70 people from South Korea tested positive.

Sources told Reuters that the 70 South Korean citizens included representatives of Samsung Electronics (OTC) and chipmaker SK Hynix.

Out of the 40,000 people who were present at CES 2013, 30% came from abroad.

Omicron cases in the global economy prompted major corporations like General Motors and Amazon.com Inc to cancel their participation at the show. The event was also held online between Jan.5 and Jan.7.

Consumer Technology Association stated that the results of testing performed on-site by doctors were reported to Southern Nevada Health Authorities.

The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services has not yet responded to Reuters’s request for comment.

Stellantis NV announced at CES that Chief Executive Officer Carlos Tavares of automaker Stellantis NV did not receive COVID-19 while in Las Vegas.
