HSBC investment bank co-head takes 6 months break -Breaking

LONDON, (Reuters) – Georges Elhedery, co-head at HSBC’s Investment Bank will be on a six-month sabbatical starting March according to an internal memo.

Greg Guyett is the co-head of the Global Banking and Markets division with Elhedery and will assume sole responsibility.

Elhedery said that he plans to spend time with his family and explore a range of interests, according to HSBC.

According to the memo, he would return to his job by September.

A bank spokesperson confirmed that the memo was true.

The Financial Times had reported Elhedery’s earlier sabbatical.
