Shiba Inu Coin Burn Goes On: 134M SHIB Removed

Shiba Inu keeps decreasing the number of SHIB tokens. In the last 24 hours, another 134,000,000 SHIB tokens were taken out of circulation by Shiba Inu’s prominent meme coin.

Shibburn stated that there have been 17 transactions which resulted to the burning of 134,519.822 SHIB tokens. This transaction involved 100M SHIB coins.

Shibburn is a community-only dedicated burn program. When SHIB tokens burn, it automatically reports them.

In order to eliminate tokens from circulation, cryptocurrency burn happens. Tokens are deliberately sent to dead or inaccessible wallet addresses. The address cannot be accessed or used by any person and all coins therein are destroyed.

The meme coin has become a little more rare after the removal of the Shiba Inu token. Already 41% SHIB maximum supply was burned. SHIB’s maximum supply is one quadrillion tokens.

The move, however, has not worked in favor of Shiba Inu’s price. In the 24 hour period, the meme coin fell by more than 3% and traded at $0.00002954 when we wrote this article.

Popular token was down to $0.00002653 January 10, 2022. These lows were last observed in October 2021 just prior to the dramatic 208% rally up to $0.0008190.

SHIB is still ranked among the 15 largest cryptos, with a market capitalization of $16.2 billion.
