OpenSea: $1M for an Indonesian Man from NFT Selfies

What do you believe your selfies are worth? One 22-year-old Indonesian male has made more money than $1,000,000 selling selfies.

Sultan Gustaf Al Ghozali took selfies every day for five years. He probably didn’t know that his little hobby would turn into a multimillionaire. In December 2021, a college student in Indonesia uploaded his selfies to OpenSea and converted them into NFTs.

Ghozali, a young computer science student claims that nearly 1000 selfie photos were taken between the ages of 18 and 22 to commemorate his graduation. Ghozali was either sitting or standing in front of the computer.

Ghozali wasn’t expecting too much of the NFT trip. Ghozali set each piece’s price at $3 and noted that anyone can use his photographs except for abusing them.

You can do anything like flipping or whatever but please don’t abuse my photos or my parents will very disappointed in me. You guys have my trust so take care of me.

Surprisingly, Ghozali’s NFT offering attracted many prominent individuals on crypto Twitter (NYSE:). He was bought and then marketed.

In spite of growing popularity, one NFT, originally priced at 0.001 Ethereum, was purchased for just 0.247 Ether or $806 Friday. Ghozali added personalization to his selfies to make it even more special. Here are some details about the selfies.

Lifestyle Asia reported that NFTs could be purchased for as low as 0.9ETH ($3,000) and the overall trading volume reached 317ETH (more or less $1 million). The young inventor made his first tax payments from the NFT income.
