Letitia James, New York’s Attorney General, revealed new information Tuesday night her civil investigation into former President Donald Trump’s business, saying the probe has uncovered evidence suggesting the fraudulent valuing of multiple assets and misrepresentations of those values to financial institutions for economic benefit.

James launched her investigation in 2019 and also stated in the court filing, that Trump Organization misstatements of counterparts, financial institutions and the Internal Revenue Service, was the Trump Organization’s ultimate authority.

She also mentioned two of Trump’s children, Donald Trump Jr. & Ivanka Trump.

James said in the court filing, “Since 2017, Donald Trump, Jr. possesses authority over numerous financial statements that contain misleading asset valuations.”

Ivanka Trump is a former White House adviser. James stated that Ms. Trump caused false financial statements to be submitted at Deutsche Bank and to the Federal Government in connection to this project.

James released a statement on Tuesday saying that evidence has been found suggesting Donald J. Trump’s and his Organization fraudulently and falsely valued multiple assets. He also misrepresented the values of these assets to financial institutions for their economic benefit. The lawful subpoenas of documents and testimony must be obeyed by the Trumps. No one can choose whether or not this law applies to them.

The office also stated that they have not made a definitive decision about whether the evidence is worthy of legal action.

James conducts a civil investigation to determine if the Trump Organization committed fraud when reporting certain property values to tax authorities and banks.

Tuesday’s filing was in response to the legal attempts of the ex-president to endanger a series of subpoenas against him, Donald Trump Jr., and Ivanka Trump. James wants to order all three of them to testify in sworn form.

According to the filing, there were problems in valuations of statements which have not been explained or acknowledged by Trump Organization.

James explained that it was evident that statements were inflated to show that Trump had a higher net worth than they actually showed.
