Japan stocks higher at close of trade; Nikkei 225 up 1.11% -Breaking

Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

Tokyo’s closing bell brought an extra 1.11%.

These were the best performers of the session Konami Corp. T:, which rose 6.2% or 330.0 points at close to trade at 555.0 at the close. Sony Corp (T) gained 5.84%, or 725.0 point to close at 13135.0 Itochu Corp. In late trade, the T: was up 5.46% (189.0 points)

These were the worst performers of the session. Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (T:) fell 6.51%, or 460.0 point to trade at 6610.0 after the close. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. T: dropped 5.26%, or 460.0 points, to finish at 8280.0 T&D Holdings, Inc. (T:), was at a record low of 4.54%. That’s 79.0 more points than 1663.0.

Stocks in the rise outnumbered stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange, 2527-1021, and 220 were unchanged.

Itochu Corp. shares (T:), rose to their highest levels ever; up 5.46%, or 189.0 to 36488.0.

Crude oil fell 0.19 percent or 0.16 to $85.64/barrel for March delivery. Brent oil fell 0.32 or 0.3% to $88.12 per barrel in March commodities trading. The February Gold Futures contract dropped 0.13 or 2.45 percent to $1840.75 an troy ounce.

USD/JPY increased 0.10% at 114.44 while EUR/JPY gained 0.27% at 130.00.

US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.3% at 95.475.
