Travelers, Alcoa Rise in Premarket; United Falls on Weak Forecast -Breaking

- Beyond meat(NASDAQ:) Stock rose 1.3% after reports of its joint venture Pepsico A vegan jerky snack was born from (NASDAQ:).
- United AirlinesStock fell 1.1% because the company forecast that its capacity would remain below pre-pandemic levels throughout the year. American Airlines (NASDAQ) stock rose 1.4% after reporting a smaller loss than anticipated and limiting its pessimism to the first quarter.
- For travelersAfter reporting record quarters of investment returns, the stock price rose 3.7% (NYSE:). This was after a report that more than compensated for a decrease in catastrophe-related claims.
- Union Pacific The stock of (NYSE:) rose 0.6% following the announcement by the railroad operator that its profit increased 24% over the previous year, due to higher shipping volumes for industrial products and metals.
- Baker HughesStock rose 1.4% following the return to adjusted profits by the oilfield services firm in the fourth quarter. As oil prices reach their highest levels in seven years, clients of the company are drilling more.
- AmazonStock rose 0.6% on news that Amazon will be opening its first California clothing shop. The news didn’t appear to have any real impact on rival fashion chains, despite fresh evidence of Amazon encroaching on their turf.
- FordStock fell 1.9% following Jefferies analysts downgrading it to neutral on valuation ground. The stock gained strength after Jefferies updated its plans to electrify at the beginning of the year. However, the stock fell by more than 7 percent on Wednesday.
- Alcoa Stock rose 2.6% following swinging to adjusted profits in the fourth quarter. This was due to strong aluminum and alumina prices. It also paid its first dividend in cash since the restructuring.
- Casper SleepStock rose 13% more after the shareholders decided to privatize the company after a disappointing experience with public capital markets. On Wednesday, the stock was more than half off its IPO price.
