Script3, a studio that focuses exclusively on strategic building and decentralized finance (DeFi), today launched YieldBlox, a Stellar based decentralized lending platform. YieldBlox allows users to borrow and lend directly from each other without having to use third-party intermediaries.

YieldBlox, the Stellar blockchain’s first DeFi protocol, is now available. It aims to further the goal of global equitable economic access by providing money market functionality and seeks to improve the Stellar network’s capital efficiency and stickiness. Participants in the Stellar network will have access to YieldBlox to borrow, lend, and other purposes without having to depend on central intermediaries. This will expand opportunities for borderless savings accounts, lines of credit, leveraged trading, and other exciting possibilities with the goal of growing the network’s utility. In addition, YieldBlox’s novel tokenomics model serves as a powerful tool for non-custodial platforms built on Stellar to improve their incentive and revenue models, which Script3 anticipates could grow overall network adoption. Stellar Turrets was Script3’s layer-2 smart contract engine which made YieldBlox possible.

Stellar participants are very engaged and in touch with users’ needs. It’s an important milestone to see the YieldBlox beta launch.
YieldBlox received the Stellar Community Fund award at its inception. Script3 completed YieldBlox’s development and raised funding from JST Capital. The YieldBlox Beta public testnet beta was released by Script3. YieldBlox will be live on the mainnet by February 2022.
