TAIPEI (Reuters) – Taiwan’s China Airlines Ltd stated on Thursday that it had authorized the purchase of four Boeing (NYSE 🙂 Co 777F freighters. The order was in addition to the six already placed.

According to a statement, the aircraft will start deliveries in 2023. The first three of six aircraft ordered have arrived.

Boeing announced this week that it plans to double its production of 777/777X aircraft to three per month by 2022, up from the two currently. This is due to increased orders for 777 freighters and booming air cargo demand. The company reiterated its plans to ship the first 777X by late 2023.
