Chevron reported earnings per share at $2.56 for revenue of $48.13B. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted an EPS of $3.1 for revenue of $44.68B.

Chevron shares have risen 15% since the start of the year but are still down 1.9% from January 27, when it hit a 52-week high of $137.00. They are outperforming the S&P 500 which is down 9.23% from the start of the year.

Chevron’s earnings beat was achieved on January 21 by Schlumberger, who reported an EPS figure of $0.41 for revenue $6.23B. This compares to the forecasts of $0.389 for revenue $6.09B.

Kinder Morgan exceeded expectations by beating forecasts on January 19, posting fourth quarter EPS at $0.27 per unit on $4.43B in revenue, as opposed to $0.2524 projected on $3.61B revenue.
