Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The index gained 1.17% at the close of NYSE. It climbed 1.89% and climbed 3.41%.

They were the top performers at the session Boeing Co (NYSE.) climbed 5.07% (9.67 points) to trade at 200.24 by the close. Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE 🙂 gained 4.73%, or 10.50 points, to close at 232.63. Walt Disney Late trade saw Company (NYSE:), rise 3.13%, or 4.34 points, to 142.97

Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ) fell 1.39%, or 0.70 points, to close at 49.76. Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) ended at 227.14 with a decline of 0.87%, or 2.00 points. Visa Inc The Class A (NYSE 🙂 dropped 0.80%, or 1.83 points, to 226.17.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Enphase Energy Inc (NASDAQ:) The stock rose 13.41% and reached 140.47 SolarEdge Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 12.33% to settle in 238.22, and Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:), which gained 11.13% until it closed at 427.14.

L3Harris Technologies Inc. (NYSE:), which fell 4.29% to 209.29 in late trading, Kellogg Company. (NYSE:), which dropped 3.46% to settle at 63.000 and Citrix Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:), which declined 3.42% at 101.94 at closing.

These were the top performers in the NASDAQ Composite Calithera Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 55.65% – 0.650 Inspira Technologies Oxy BHN Ltd (NASDAQ 🙂 was up by 36.52% to settle in at 3.14 Vaccinex Inc (NASDAQ:), which increased 33.63% to close at 1.510.

These were the worst performers Imperial Petroleum Inc (NASDAQ) was trading at 0.98, down 55.05% in late trade. Appharvest Inc(NASDAQ:), which fell 12.06% to settle for 2.99, saw a decrease of 12.06%. Vigil Neuroscience Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 11.95% to 12.90 by the end.

On the New York Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered falling ones by 2680, 574, and 106. Similarly, on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange 3323 rose, 582 decreased, and 154 ended unchanged.

Imperial Petroleum Inc (NASDAQ) shares fell to new lows. They lost 55.05%, or 1.20 to 0.98. Appharvest Inc shares (NASDAQ:), fell 12.06%, or 0.41 to 2.99.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 10.23% to 24.83.

For February delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.76% to $1798.50/troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which rose by 1.29 or 1.49% to reach $88.11/barrel, while April Brent oil contracted rose by 0.06 or 0.07% to trade at $89.28/barrel.

EUR/USD fell 0.00% at 1.1233 while USD/JPY rose by 0.03% at 115.14.

At 96.632, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.65%.
