BERLIN (Reuters), – German retailers should have nominal revenues of 3%, with a steady increase in sales due to inflation.

HDE stated that the growth in online shopping will drive this trend. This is compared with 1.2% in traditional retail. However, larger retail chains may do better than smaller ones.

HDE chief executive Stefan Genth claimed that “Total sales” will increase, but not all players. This refers to small businesses, shops, and areas in central Germany. It is illegal for unvaccinated persons to enter retail stores in Germany.

Genth declared that this measure was ineffective in fighting the pandemic.
