FedEx suspends domestic express freight services on omicron hit

FedExThe suspension of domestic express freight services was made Tuesday due to shortage of staff as the number of cases of coronavirus omicron rose.
According to the delivery company, it will suspend domestic FedEx express freight in its economy including FedEx two day freight and FedEx three day freight.
FedEx announced that international economy freight pickup services were resumed Monday after being temporarily halted.
The company warned last month that the rising incidence of the omicron variant was causing a shortage in staff and a delay in aircraft shipments.
Many U.S. airlines had to cancel their flights due to severe winter storms and shortages of staff.
A Reuters tally shows that the number of U.S. deaths from coronavirus rose by at most 2,266 to 890,049 on Monday. This is up from 887,783 in the previous day.
