Exxon Mobil, UPS and FedEx Rise Premarket; Tesla, AT&T Fall -Breaking

  • Exxon Mobil The stock of (NYSE:) rose 0.7% following the announcement by the oil giant that its fourth quarter profit was $8.87billion. This is the highest in seven years thanks to high energy prices.

  • Tesla (NASDAQ:) stock fell 0.3% after the announced the recall of over 50,000 cars and SUVs because of concerns over the safety of its “Full Self-Driving” software.

  • UPSStock in (NYSE:) rose 6.8% following the beating of fourth quarter earnings estimates by delivery company, raising its dividend and offering strong guidance for 2022.

  • FedEx (NYSE:) stock rose 2.8%, boosted by its rival’s strong results, even though it has suspended its own domestic express freight services due to staff shortages caused by Covid-19.

  • AT&TStock fell 3.7% on the news that WarnerMedia would spin-off WarnerMedia, a transaction worth $43 billion to merge its media assets with Discovery(NASDAQ): It dropped 1.1% and reduced its dividend almost half.

  • Snap (NYSE:) stock rose 2% after Stifel reiterated its “buy” rating, calling the social media company its top pick in digital advertising, seeing almost 40% upside.

  • Wells Fargo (NYSE:) stock rose 0.3% after Atlantic Equities upgraded its stance on the bank to “overweight” from “neutral”, saying it should be able to build on its strong start to 2022 and deliver more upside to shareholders.

  • UBSThe stock of (NYSE:) rose 6.5% following the announcement by the Swiss Bank that it had made its highest annual profit since 2008, which encouraged its management to buy more shares and pay a greater dividend.

  • NXP Semiconductors Stock rose 0.8% to NASDAQ after strong guidance was given by the company for the current quarter. They project that its revenue will increase at least 18% annually, reaching $3.03 billion.
