U.S. says traffic deaths rose 12% in first nine months of 2021 to 31,720 -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters), – U.S. traffic safety regulators have reported that the number of road deaths increased by 12% between the first and ninth months 2021, to 31,720. That is according to the initial estimates. It was the most fatality rate since 2006.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, traffic deaths rose 3.9% in the third quarter.

NHTSA has reported a 12% increase in traffic fatality rates in the last nine months, the most since 1975 when it began tracking them.
