(Reuters] – A lawsuit was filed by the ex-president of Human Rights Campaign in Washington, accusing it of racial prejudice in its firing last year.
Alphonso David was dismissed on September 6th after Letitia James, New York State Attorney General, reported that he advised Andrew Cuomo, former Governor of New York on handling sexual harassment claims.
David stated in the complaint that the organisation fostered “racist and biased cultures.” The Post also reported that David claimed that he received less than he had been paid initially because he is Black. A board member of the organization told him that it was not appropriate to mention race in public comments.
David stated that Human Rights Campaign board “unjustly” fired him and advised it to expect legal challenges.
Reuters couldn’t immediately reach the organisation for comment.
