Asian Stocks Up, Investors Remain Concerned Over Tightening Monetary Policy -Breaking

Investing.com – Asia Pacific stocks were up on Wednesday morning. Investors will be keeping an eye out for the.

Japan’s rose 0.92% by 10:08 PM ET (3:09 AM GMT). The Bank of Japan sticks to its bond buying plan even yields rose to 0.215%, closer to the central bank’s ceiling.

South Korea’s gained 0.67%

Australia’s rose was 0.577%

Hong Kong’s was up 1.86%

China’s was up 0.35% while the rose 0.75%. After the largest intraday decline in benchmark index since August 2021, Chinese state-backed funds intervened on the stock exchange to purchase local stocks.

U.S. equity options advanced. As the U.S. Federal Reserve raises interest rates in an effort to curb inflation, bond markets are still cautious.

Investors will be keeping an eye on corporate earnings and avoiding worries over a sudden withdrawal of stimulus measures. The U.S. Federal Reserve may adopt an aggressive lifting policy in March, as evidence suggests that there is a growing U.S.-inflation.

“We’re still in an environment where a lot is going quite well for the economy,” Lauren Goodwin, a multi-asset portfolio strategist at New York Life Investments, told Bloomberg Television. “It’s still an all-cyclicals story from our perspective.”

Goodwin stated that the firm will be looking into asset classes such as small-caps or value stocks, while stressing the importance security selection.

76% have reported profit levels that were higher than projected.

“Even though the growth rate is slowing, we are still seeing positive revisions going forward,” Erin Gibbs, Main Street Asset Management chief investment officer, told Bloomberg Television.

That and forward guidance suggest companies “clearly think that profit growth is going to significantly outpace inflation for a year so that is another positive sign,” Gibbs said.
