an Old-School Pixel JRPG on Blockchain. What We Know So Far -Breaking
[ad_1]
There are two kinds of cryptocurrency games developers. The first are those who take an already existing concept from the traditional gaming industry and add blockchain to it as the “selling point.” The other tends to just take inspiration from the classics, rather than develop an exact copy.
Dead Knight appears to combine a variety of ideas. The name refers to knights. These are very popular characters in indie games, with titles like Shovel Knight or Hollow Knight receiving great praise. However, the screen shots looked pixelated and reminiscent of Castle Crashers.
After watching the gameplay video I realized that this is a JRPG classic in the same vein of Final Fantasy.
It is crypto-based and will feature a marketplace, farming and PvE. The developers also promise to have championships in the game by the end. Closed beta testing is planned for Q1 2022.
Here’s the flipside
- Many buttons on the game’s website simply don’t work, and so the landing page feels quite raw, though it looks quite nice design-wise.
- The game’s whitepaper is noticeably brief. Developers have not revealed any gameplay details.
Conclusion
This project is very interesting especially in design. I’ve got my eye on Dead Knight, however, I’d like to see some gameplay before adding it to my proverbial wishlist. The project has so far been nothing but a collection of collectibles.
