KYIV (Reuters – Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy invited Joe Biden, the United States President to visit Ukraine in the near future when they talked by telephone on Sunday. Zelenskiy’s office stated.

Tensions over Russia’s troops building up near Ukraine have been rising since weeks. Washington said that an invasion is possible at any time. Moscow claims that it is not planning an invasion.

The presidential office quoted Zelenskiy saying to Biden, “I’m certain that your arrival into Kyiv over the next days, which is crucial for stabilising, will be an important signal and help with de-escalation.”

The White House refused to comment on this invitation.

CNN quoted a unnamed Ukrainian official who said that there had been no response positive from Biden regarding the idea.

Zelenskiy stated in the Ukrainian reading of the conversation that Ukraine was aware of all the threats facing it and was willing to take on any scenario. The call ended with Zelenskiy thanking America for their support.

According to him, “We anticipate it will help prevent panic from spreading,” he said.

Zelenskiy voiced dissatisfaction with the dire warnings of imminent war. These warnings are putting pressure on the currency and causing economic damage.
