Spain January CPI rose 6.1% over 12 months, INE’s final data show -Breaking

(Reuters) – Spanish consumer prices increased 6.1% in January. This is up 6.0% from a flash estimate of 6.0% two weeks back and 6.5% from the twelve months prior to December.

According to the National Statistics Institute, core inflation (which excludes volatile foods and energy prices) was 2.4% for the year. This is the highest reading since 2012, and up from 2.1% one month before.

Spanish European Union Harmonized Prices increased 6.2% in January based on the annual basics. This is a decrease of 6.6% from December, and slightly more than Reuters’ forecast of 6.1%.
