Senator Sherrod Brown (chair of the Senate Banking Committee) said Tuesday afternoon, that they will not vote on President Joe Biden’s nominations for the Federal Reserve because Republicans are protesting Sarah Bloom Raskin’s candidacy.

The Banking Committee was due to vote whether Raskin or four of President Trump’s picks for Fed leadership were recommended. However, the necessary quorum could not be reached without the participation of Republicans.

“I will postpone voting on these nominations. Brown announced Tuesday afternoon, “We will notify you once we have rescheduled.” “Republicans have left the American people behind.”

Senator Pat Toomey, a ranking member of the Committee from Pennsylvania, announced that earlier in the morning the GOP would boycott the nomination voteTheir ongoing concerns over Raskin’s past work with Reserve Trust, which she was employed at shortly after her departure from the Obama administration, has led to their “revolving doors” concern.
