U.S. to experience as much sea level rise by 2050 as it did in past century, NOAA says -Breaking

(Reuters) – The United States will experience as much sea-level rise due to climate change in the next thirty years, as it did during the past century according to a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration report (NOAA).

On Tuesday, a study showed that the sea level along U.S. coasts would rise between 10-12 inches and 2050. It will cause a significant increase in coastal flooding in spite of any heavy rain storms.

“This new data on sea rise is the latest reconfirmation that our climate crisis ⁠— as the President has said ⁠— is blinking ‘code red,'” said Gina McCarthy, the White House National Climate Advisor.

In order to project sea level rise across the nation, NOAA collaborated with federal agencies.
