Axie Infinity was undeniably THE crypto game of 2021, though such an award doesn’t exist… yet. This game exploded on the scene last year and has been a major success in the crypto market. But the project’s unpredictable success also brought on a lot of responsibility for the developers. “With great power comes great responsibility,” uncle Ben once said.

Sky Mavis must meet expectations to keep its high standards. Currently, the leading crypto developers are preparing a third version of gameplay, which has been named “: Origin.”

The developers are looking to launch the alpha version of ‘Origin’ in the near future. The enhancements are primarily focused on the interface and gameplay mechanics of Origin.

Your Axies that you have already earned will continue to work in Origin. However, all Axies obtained in alpha will be lost. This alpha version is available to collect community feedback. Therefore, it’s fair to say you should stick to the current version if your interest lies in growing your Axie gang.

There are a lot of changes to gameplay, so the game is getting heated. Cards will be available to play during each player’s turn, meaning that you’ll need to keep an eye on what your opponent is doing throughout the entire battle. Additionally, players cannot skip any turn for energy or cards accumulation.

Cards can now have multiple abilities beyond attack and defense. There will be 6 Axie cards now, which means there is more choice in the game.

Another novelty is the introduction of charms and runes. These power-ups can be made by players using SLP and moon shards. But these resources do not transfer between seasons.

Last but not least, the game was reorganized to remove critical strikes that brought in frustrating and often annoying randomness.

Conclusion
Axie Infinity is taking the path of becoming an “adult” RPG. This genre has a wide range of applications in the traditional gaming world, including JRPGs such as Final Fantasy and classic Western RPGs such Skyrim. On the other hand, virtual pet RPGs have largely been dominated by Pokémon, and Axie Infinity has made the choice to move away from that influence in favor of implementing mechanics from kinds of RPG adjacent games, such as Final Fantasy and Hearthstone.

Sky Mavis and the rest of crypto gaming can be regarded as positive. They are constantly improving their game and don’t mind trying new ideas. Axie Infinity can’t afford to be satisfied in a field that is constantly changing like blockchain gaming.
