MOSCOW, (Reuters) – Russia’s defense ministry posted video footage on Wednesday. The video showed a line of military vehicles and tanks leaving Crimea after conducting drills.

Moscow on Tuesday announced that it was reversing a portion of its forces near Ukraine. However, the move was met by skepticism. The U.S. President Joe Biden stated that over 150,000 Russian troops were located near Ukraine’s border.

The deepest crisis in East-West relations in decades is currently underway. World power are vying for post-Cold War influence, energy supply and other resources as Moscow tries to prevent the ex-Soviet neighbor from joining NATO.

The defense ministry stated that tanks, infantry fighting vehicle and self-propelled guns were seen on Wednesday as video was taken from the Crimean peninsula, which Moscow took in 2014 after seizing it from Kyiv.

According to the defense ministry, “Combat equipment as well as military personnel” will be shipped by military trains directly to their permanent deployment points. “On arrival the equipment will have to be serviced in order for it to perform the next phase combat training.”

The video was published by the RIA news agency and showed dozens upon dozens of military vehicles passing the bridge at night.

The military stated that a separate convoy made use of a different bridge to cross.
