Bank of Canada says deputy Schembri to retire in June -Breaking

OTTAWA (Reuters), – Friday’s announcement by the Bank of Canada that Lawrence Schembri is retiring as Deputy Governor effective June 17, 2022, and that the Governing Council of Canada will return to their usual six-member complement.

According to the central bank, Schembri will have her domestic affairs responsibilities taken over by Sharon Kozicki. Senior Deputy President Carolyn Rogers will oversee financial system activities in collaboration with Toni Gravelle.

Schembri was a 1997 Bank of Canada employee and was elected to the Governing Board in 2013.
