(Reuters) -A U.S. Judge has ordered that Oath Keepers militia founder Stewart Rhodes remain behind bars while he waits for trial on a charge involving seditious conspiracy. This is related to his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Rhodes (56) is the most prominent defendant among the 725 others charged with being involved in the attacks on then-President Donald Trump’s supporters. He claimed that there was no evidence Rhodes plotted to prevent Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s elections.
He is facing a conspiracy to seditious charge as one of eleven Oath Keepers associates.
