(Reuters) – Carnival (NYSE:). Carnival announced Friday that it will make masks for guests starting March 1, after U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), eased warnings for cruise ships.

According to the company, masks are recommended, but not necessary.

Carnival stated in the statement that “there may however be certain locations and events where masks are required.”

Carnival stated that it will offer greater flexibility for pre-cruise testing.

Carnival Corp operated the cruise line and said that children younger than 5 years will be able to sail on their own without any exemption or vaccine.

After similar actions from Norwegian Cruise Line (NYSE 🙂 Holdings Ltd. and Disney World theme park, the mask directive was eased.

In response to a decrease in COVID-19-related cases on board cruise ships, the U.S. CDC lowered its alerts.
