Raytheon says it may not ship around 70 engines to Airbus in first quarter -Breaking

(Reuters) – Raytheon Technologies Corp (NYSE:) said Wednesday that its Pratt and Whitney unit might not be able to ship 70 engines to Airbus SE in the first quarter 2022 because of casting shortages.

Raytheon (NYSE) Chief Executive Greg Hayes announced that Patt would not likely ship… let’s just call it 70 engines, to Airbus. This is because of casting shortages. Barclays (LON:) Industrial Conference.

Hayes comments confirmed the pressure on supply chain as Airbus increases production. Reuters reported January that the delivery dates for 2022 aircraft were being estimated a month too late. This could lead to some delays in 2023.

Castings and forgings are two of the most critical items in aerospace supply chains. They have a long lead time.
