Booking Holdings Shares Rise On Q4 Revenue, Earnings Beat -Breaking

Investing.com — Booking Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:)Earnings per share announced at $15.83 for revenue of $2.98 trillion. According to analysts polled Investing.comOn revenue of $2.86 trillion, EPS is expected to be $13.40.
Total revenues of the company for the fourth quarter were up 141% compared to last year.
Gross travel bookings for the fourth quarter were $19 Billion, an increase of 160% over last year. The number of room nights booked for the fourth quarter was also up 100% compared to last year.
Booking Holdings chief executive officer Glen Fogel stated that despite the Omicron wave’s negative effect on travel at the close of the fourth quarter we achieved revenue and adjusted EBITDA results which were higher than our expectations.
Booking Holdings stock rose 2% in the hours following the announcement.
Fogel said that he was “encouraged” by the significant improvement in bookings seen in the first quarter 2022.
“I think we are in a good position to recover travel demand, but we expect that there will be some periods when COVID negatively affects travel trends through the year.
