KYIV, Reuters – Ukrainian forces destroyed an enemy airplane over Kyiv early Friday. It crashed into a building in Kyiv and then set fire to it, according to Anton Herashchenko (an adviser to the interior ministry).

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s foreign minister, stated that Kyiv was under missile attack.

He wrote, “Horrific Russian missile strikes against Kyiv” on Twitter (NYSE :). “This was the first time that our capital was subject to anything similar. It was 1941, when Nazi Germany attacked it.”

Herashchenko stated that a series of explosions was heard earlier in Kyiv, and Herashchenko claimed they were sounds from air defenses firing on the plane. According to Reuters witnesses, further explosions can be heard right before dawn.

Russia attacked Ukraine full-scale on Thursday. Kyiv reports dozens and possibly hundreds of injuries.

According to authorities, fighting broke out in Sumy, the country’s northeast. A border post in Zaporizhzhya, in the region of southeastern Zaporizhzhya, was also hit with missiles. This resulted in border guard deaths.
