British Airways avoiding Russian airspace for overflights, IAG CEO says -Breaking

LONDON, (Reuters) – British Airways’ owner IAG (LON) has ceased flying to Russia for overflights. It cancelled Friday’s flight from London after Boris Johnson banned Aeroflot Russia’s main airline Aeroflot in Britain. CEO Luis Gallego stated that.

Britain banned all Russian scheduled airlines from entering British Airspace.

Gallego stated that “Following UK’s decision to prohibit Aeroflot from landing within the UK, it was decided not to use Russian airspace overflights.” We are currently avoiding Russian airspace.”

The impact on us isn’t huge as we only fly to a few destinations in Asia right now. We can also reroute flights.
