MOSCOW (Reuters), – Russia’s economic ministry said Friday that it is working to minimize the impact of Western sanctions imposed following Russia’s invasion in Ukraine. It also stated that they would increase trade and economic ties between Asia and Russia.

The ministry stated that they understood that sanctions pressures we’ve faced since 2014 would now increase. “Some of our foreign counterparts spoke such a way that we were prepared for possible new sanctions for some time,” the ministry said.
