MOSCOW (Reuters), – The Yamal – Europe pipeline, which supplies gas from Germany to Poland, has been shut down on Friday. However, preliminary bids for westbound flows of gas have already emerged, according to data provided by the Gascade pipeline operator.

A section of the pipeline’s gas has flowed eastward from December 21st, as Polish buyers opted to draw on existing supply from Germany and not buy more Russian gas at higher spot prices.

Based on data provided by Gaz-System, a Russian system operator has allocated 6.4 million kilowatt-hours (kWh/h), to Gazprom (MCX). The Kondratki transit station was opened from 1400 GMT (Friday) through Saturday.

According to Gascade, preliminary supplies to the West are yet to start.
