Images show new deployments of forces, 150 helicopters in southern Belarus

(Reuters] – A satellite image taken Friday by a U.S. firm showed large scale ground forces deployments as well as about 150 transport helicopters within southern Belarus. These were located about 20 miles from Ukraine’s border.

Images showed a large helicopter deployment close to Chojniki in Belarus. The deployment had more than 90 helicopters that were parked along a stretch of road. It extended for over five miles. A large ground force was also visible in images, with many hundred vehicles positioned in convoy positions in various fields.

Reuters could not independently verify the images that Maxar Technologies (NYSE) released. They have been following the Russian buildup for several weeks.
