MEXICO CITY, (Reuters) – Grupo Bimbo, a Mexican breadmaker, announced on Sunday that it had temporarily suspended operation at its Dnipro facility to protect its 150 employees, who are all Ukrainians. This was due to the ongoing Russian crisis.

Grupo Bimbo is the largest breadmaker in the world. It stated that in Ukraine it operated under the Bimbo QSR brand, selling baked goods at quick service restaurants. The company stated that it had stopped operations in Ukraine just four days before.

Grupo Bimbo is also present in Russia. However, the statement does not indicate whether this would affect its operations.

According to local media, Gruma tortilla manufacturer in Mexico had stopped operations at its Ukrainian plant earlier this week.
