REUTERS/Matt Mills McKnight/File PhotoOSLO (Reuters] – Norwegian Air and AerCap have signed lease agreements to acquire 10 Boeing (NYSE:) 737-808 MAX8 aircraft in advance of the European summer season 2023.
Norwegian Air now has 80 planes in service during the next high season. This is an increase from 51 aircraft and 70 that it had planned to add later in the year.
The aircraft lessor was one major creditor when budget airlines underwent financial restructuring in order to prevent collapse during the coronavirus pandemic.
Norwegian Air was home to more than 160 aircraft at its peak pre-pandemic.
