FTC prepares for possible challenge to Amazon’s $8.5 billion MGM deal

(Reuters] – U.S. Federal Trade Commission has begun to investigate possible antitrust suits against Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ)’s acquisition of MGM Studios for $8.5 Billion. This includes hiring expert witnesses.

According to the report, which cites people who are familiar with the situation, FTC officials will make a decision on how to proceed over the next few days.

FTC declined comment on a request by Amazon.
