Volkswagen’s Skoda limits some output due to Ukraine, production in Russia still running -Breaking

PRAGUE (Reuters). Czech carmaker Skoda Auto will restrict some production due to shortages following Russia’s invasion Ukraine. It said that it was still producing in Russia.

Skoda Auto said that due to Ukraine’s current state, Skoda Auto faces critical shortages in parts. This has an effect on certain models.

“This is why we have decided to limit the production of ENYAQ IV starting this week.”

Skoda claimed that the supply chain for its products consisted of several suppliers located in west Ukraine.

Czech carmaker stated that production continued at two of its Russian plants, which have been affected by Western sanctions.

Skoda answered a question about any potential impact on production or operations in case of additional sanctions against Russia.

Skoda’s second-largest customer in Russia, 2021 was marked by more than 90.000 vehicles. According to Skoda, Ukraine is also a stable marketplace.
