Apple halts product sales in Russia

AppleThe company announced Tuesday that it has stopped selling products in Russia through its Apple Store.
Apple’s Russian website lists all products as being “unavailable” and prohibits delivery to Russia.
Apple announced Tuesday also that Russian-controlled news outlets RT News, Sputnik News and Sputnik News have been removed from the App Store worldwide except Russia.
“We took a lot of steps in response to this invasion. All product sales to Russia have been halted. We stopped exports to Russia last week. Apple Pay has been restricted. Sputnik News, RT News, and Sputnik News no longer are available to download from the App store outside Russia. We have removed both live traffic incidents and live traffic in Apple Maps Ukraine, as a precautionary and safety measure for Ukrainian citizens,” an Apple spokeswoman told CNBC.
Apple’s Tuesday announcement highlights the delicate balance American technology companies must maintain during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Russian credit cards services are limited so companies face difficulties in getting Russian customers to make payments.
A message from Nike on their website stated that Nike had stopped selling its products in Russia.
