WASHINGTON (Reuters), Mar 2, 2018 – U.S. Congressman Van Taylor voted for a congressional inquiry into Jan. 6, 2021’s attack on the U.S. Capitol. He will be facing Republican Keith Self during a primary election in Texas’ third congressional District, according to the Associated Press.

Taylor faced several primary challengers who sided with Republican congressional leadership and Donald Trump in opposing the investigation into the attack by supporters of the former president.

For a U.S. House of Representatives seat, the winner of the runoff in November will have to face a Democrat.
